Why Front Yard Farms?

We believe front yard farming is the next big thing. Instead of wasting masses of water each year maintaining your non-native Kentucky blue grass, we offer an alternative to use what is usually dead space at the front of your house. Not only do the gardens look beautiful, but they actually put the land to use providing you with fresh, local and organic produce!

Why a raised bed?

To know that your vegetables are truly organic, you have to keep the organic soil separate from the soil in the ground. No synthetic fertilizers. No pesticides. No chemicals. Just pure, natural, self-contained goodness.

Why organic?

You may have heard the saying “Feed the soil, not the plant.” Well we believe that is the basis to produce top quality produce. We nourish the soil that feeds our food – and you can taste the difference! We believe in taking care of the earth, and keeping toxic pesticides and fertilizers away from humans, wildlife and nature. So we use organic seed, starters and soil.

What kind of raised garden beds?

All our beds are made of rough cut untreated cedar wood. It is a high quality wood that does not need to be treated to prevent rotting and therefore no harmful chemicals can seep into soil.

Why add on the irrigation system?

The irrigation system means you never have to worry about forgetting to water your garden. It will have a timer set to it so that your garden will have the exact amount as and when is needed – no more, no less. We use drip irrigation which targets the root systems efficiently, while conserving water. All we need is an external water supply to connect to.

What’s included in the price?

Fully installed untreated cedar wood garden bed, organic soil, and organic vegetables.
